This issue of the International Journal of Advance Research and Innovation presents a range of unique and varied studies.

Presenting an OTRA-based half wave rectifier (HWR) is the first study titled ‘OTRA Based Half Wave Rectifier.’ Following the aforementioned, the objective of the next study titled ‘Formulation of Finger Millet Cookies & Studies on Nutritional and Sensory Attributes’ is to prepare calcium and iron-enriched nutrition cookies developed by incorporating ragi.

‘In Container Integration Testing Frame Work’ is a combination of four open-source technologies (Arquillian, Test NG, JaCoCo, and Maven) and aims to deal with automating the code using JaCoCo. Additionally, ‘Colored Petri Net Based Techniques for Constructing Reliable Web Service Composition’ proposed a model named Coloured Petri net-based Reliability in Composite Web Service (CPN-RCWS) which compared the reliability under a different state of recovery mechanism.

‘Development of a Process and Standardization of Parameters for the Manufacture of Kheer’ deals with the standardization of the methodology for processing of kheer and the selection of different types of ingredients used in kheer at different levels.

An interesting paper titled ‘Fifteen Years of GSM Services: Technological Issues, Advantages, and Socio-Economic Impact on the Nigerian Economy’ discusses the evolution of GSM services in Nigeria, the range of services available and the issues involved in its operation in the last fourteen years.

An ‘Experimental Study of Droplet Impact on a Cold Surface’ has been performed with the aim of visualizing the temporal variation of droplet impact and of observing frost formation and ice adhesion on the surface.

In ‘Synthetic Inflow Boundary Condition Based on Digital Filtering with Different Length Scales,’ the synthetic inflow generator has been developed based on spatial and temporal correlation functions, which have a form similar to an exponential function.

In another interesting paper titled ‘Thermodynamic Performance Evaluation of Heat Pipe,’ the thermodynamic performance of heat pipe is experimentally evaluated at different operational angles with different mass flow rates of external cooling water at condensing section.

‘A Review of Coir Fiber Reinforced Polyvinyl Alcohol and Other Various Adhesives Based Composites’ reviews the work done on the proposed combined polymer composite consisting of a poly-vinyl alcohol (PVA) and other various adhesive reinforced by coconut fibre (coir fibre).

‘Wind Energy Potential at Different Cities of Assam Using Statistical Models’ investigates the wind energy potential at three different cities of Assam viz. Dibrugarh, Guwahati and Tezpur of Assam, India by using statistical methods over a period of eight years from 2010-2017. On a similar note,‘Tidal Energy: An Overview of Indian Scenario’ presents a basic review of the current scenario of tidal energy technology and discusses its barriers & way forward for tidal energy development in India.

‘Impact of External Debt on Human Capital Development in Nigeria’ sought to examine the impact of increase in external debt stock and its servicing on human capital development.

Last but not the least, ‘Arduino Based Gestures to Speech Conversion System’ suggests a wearable glove for people who face difficulty in communicating verbally due to various different reasons (be it deaf or dumb), so that with the possession of this device, they can exhibit their basic requirements via their gestures and those gestures will be converted to speech for the hearer to understand what is he or she trying to say.

We hope that the diverse range of subjects covered in this issue act as ‘food for thought’ for our readers and prove to be intellectually stimulating for them. The support of the readers and the contributions of all the authors to the global discourse on the subjects is greatly appreciated.
